July 16, 2010: 'CarMax rides sed-car prices to profit surge' This story has been corrected to note that close to 40 percent of the used vehicles in CarMax's retail inventory were purchased from consumers through its appraisal program. Read the corrected article.

June 8, 2010: 'GM, Ford lead spike in residuals' This story incorrectly spelled the name of dealer marketing company Level 5 Marketing. Read the corrected article.
June 2, 2010: 'Toyota's top car guy' The original version of this story misspelled Tetsuro Toyoda's name. Read the corrected article.
May 26, 2010: 'Ad blitz for Jaguar's redone XJ targets 3 major markets' The article has been corrected to correctly identify a Jaguar sponsor as Guitar (not Cigar) Aficionado magazine. Read the corrected article.
May 25, 2010: 'Going for 'sporty'' An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported one of the mediums (dealer signs) in which the red slash logo would appear. Read the corrected article.
May 21, 2010: 'M-B Financial expands insurance programs' Mercedes-Benz USA LLC, the U.S. sales and distribution company, offers the Mercedes-Benz Extended Limited Warranty, not Mercedes-Benz Financial, the captive finance company. Read the corrected article.
May 18, 2010: 'Automakers get involved; results mixed' An earlier version of this story should have said that Quorum Information Technologies Inc. participates in General Motors' Integrated Dealer Management System program in the United States as well as Canada. Read the corrected article.
April 28, 2010: 'GM said to finish payments this week to U.S., Canada' The amount of government loans to General Motors is $8.1 billion. An earlier version of this story listed an incorrect amount. Read the corrected article.
April 27, 2010: 'At last, auto sales momentum builds in Calif.' The photo caption was corrected to note that the sales figures were for the first quarter, not the month of March. Read the corrected article.
April 12, 2010: 'Here come the heavies' The Ram offers a 6.7-liter, inline 6 Cummins turbodiesel. The original story incorrectly identified the engine as a V-6. Read the corrected article.
March 25, 2010: 'Top dealers buy stores, time' The article was fixed to say there were two changes in rank in the top 10, and two dealership groups in the top 20 had higher revenue. Read the corrected article.
March 25, 2010: 'New products spark record year at Openlane' The article was changed to fix a misidentification the number of dealers doing business with Openlane. The correct number is 25,000. Read the corrected article.
March 22, 2010: 'Europe car-output slowdown starts' The years in the top line of the February production table have been corrected in the PDF document that accompanies this story. Read the corrected article.
March 1, 2010: 'VW to show how eCall works at CeBIT' The article was changed because information about Volkswagen's participation was removed from an updated version of a release on the CeBIT show's Web site. Read the corrected article.
Feb 22, 2010: 'Retail panel: Dependable captive lenders are critical' The article was fixed to correctly characterize the relationship between Chrysler Financial and GMAC Financial Services. Chrysler Financial remains an independent financial-services company. Read the corrected article.
Feb 16, 2010: 'Lutz: GM could reopen plants' The article was fixed to clarify the standing of GM's Spring Hill, Tenn. plant. The plant was mentioned during a discussion about plants that may be reopened. Read the corrected article.
Feb 12, 2010: 'Lineup lighter for Chicago show' Nissan, which initially wasn't going to attend the Chicago show, changed direction and unveiled the 40th anniversary 370Z. Read the corrected article.
Feb 9, 2010: 'No more push: How Detroit stopped overproducing' The table on this story has been fixed to compare days supply 1/1/09 with days supply for 1/1/10, rather than 1/1/08. Read the corrected article.
Feb 5, 2010: 'Dura's Leuliette named executive chairman of investor Patriarch' Story has been changed to fix a misidentification. Tim Leuliette is executive chairman of Dura, and managing director of Patriarch Partners LLC. Read the corrected article.
Jan. 28, 2010: 'Toyota plans fuel cell vehicles by 2015' and 'Toyota set to make fuel cell vehicles by 2015, tech exec says' Stories have been changed to clarify several points related to Toyota's plans to launch hydrogen fuel cell vehicles by 2015. The story now notes that Takeshi Uchiyamada, head of product planning and advanced technology at Toyota Motor Corp., prefers fuel cell electric vehicles to plug-in electric vehicles because he says the technology is less costly and because fuel cell vehicles have greater range. Uchiyamada said that with enough hydrogen fueling stations, fuel-cell vehicles would offer greater value to consumers than plug-in electrics. Read the corrected article.
Jan. 27, 2010: 'Cadillac store plan in jeopardy' Story has been changed to fix a mischaracterization of the extent of General Motors Co.'s planned Cadillac franchise cuts. GM wants to cut its Cadillac franchises by two-thirds -- from 1,422 on Jan. 1, 2009, to about 500 by the end of this year. Read the corrected article.
Jan. 27, 2010: 'Infiniti considers fwd -- again' Story has been changed to fix an error regarding the vehicle platforms used by Infiniti. The QX56 uses body-on-frame; the other models are unibody. Read the corrected article.
Jan. 22, 2010: 'BMW plans 6-cylinder 7 series' Story has been changed to remove an inaccuracy regarding the types of engines available in 7-series BMWs since 1992. Read the corrected article.
Jan. 20, 2010: 'VW Golf retains top sales spot in Europe' Ford Fiesta climbs to No. 2' Story has been changed to reflect a corrected finish of the top 10 selling cars in Europe in 2009. Read the corrected article.
Jan. 19, 2010: 'Toyota faces major repair work on its ailing image' An earlier version of this story misidentified the technology with dual sensors that backstop each other in monitoring Toyota accelerator pedals. It is the electronic-throttle control system. Read the corrected article.
Dec. 15, 2009: 'Dealers have gripes with software vendors' This story misstated which vendor ranked first in dealership satisfaction. Read the corrected article.
Nov. 6, 2009: 'Tesla: The real Government Motors?' The original version of this story incorrectly stated that Tesla builds its sports car in Finland. Tesla does not build any vehicle in Finland. Read the corrected article.
Nov. 6, 2009: 'How this Gen 5 store lived to be 100' The original version of this story incorrectly stated the number of new-car franchises near Egglefield Bros. Ford dealership sites in Elizabethtown and Ray Brook, N.Y. Read the corrected article.
Nov. 3, 2009: 'Alternative power brings a fresh surge of patents' incorrectly characterized Hyundai's percentage of patents and applications in alternative-power innovations. The automaker holds about 3 percent of all patents and applications in the field. Read the corrected article.
Oct. 21, 2009: 'Chrysler's heavy-duty Ram pickups on way to dealers' was revised to reduce the stated size of the heavy-duty pickup segment. Read the corrected article.
Oct. 19, 2009: 'Dollar Thrifty slashes its Chrysler purchases' was revised to correct the spelling of Chrysler in the headline. Read the corrected article.
Sept. 10, 2009: Ian Beavis's title is executive vice president of Nielsen's automotive practice. Our original story characterized his title incorrectly. Read the corrected article.
Sept. 9, 2009: Cerberus Capital Management investors asked to withdraw $4.77 billion from the company's original hedge funds, according to a correction published Sept. 3 in The Wall Street Journal. The original version of this story attributed the Journal's incorrect figure.. Read the corrected article.
Aug. 17, 2009: Mercury brand sales in Canada in July totaled 14 units, an 81.1 percent drop from the same time last year. Our original story indicated a 98.1 percent fall. Read the corrected article.
Aug. 14, 2009: An earlier version of this story listed the wrong city for Toyota's Ontario plant. The correct city is Cambridge, Ontario. Read the corrected article.
July 6, 2009: A headline in a story from our print issue mischaracterized a customer incentive that Smart USA is offering. The offer is for purchasing a vehicle, not a lease deal. Read the corrected article.
July 6, 2009: A photo caption in our print issue had the wrong title for Johan de Nysschen. He is president of Audi of America Inc. Read the corrected article.
July 6, 2009: A Final Assembly item in our print issue misstated the amount of federal bailout money approved but not yet received by General Motors. GM says the correct number is $21.5 billion. This figure means that bailout money for the auto industry disbursed or promised by the U.S. and Canadian governments totals $95.7 billion. Read the corrected article.
June 22, 2009: Citroen's Russia sales volume in May rose 43.6 percent to 1,317 units. A story and headline in the Automotive News Europe weekly newsletter inadvertently did not include Citroen among the May winners. Read the corrected article.
June 8, 2009: A weekly production table and story, "Output off 52% in May", which appeared in the June 8 issue of Automotive News, contained incorrect May numbers for Nissan's Mexico production. Those numbers made the May production totals incorrect for Mexico and North America. Read the corrected article.
June 3, 2009: The original version of this story, "GM seeks approval to cancel jet leases," incorrectly reported the Bankruptcy Court's response to GM's June 1 motion to cancel the corporate jet contracts. The judge granted the motion on Thursday, June 18. Read the corrected article.
