Since taking over his father's store decades ago, Cochran has created an environment guided by values that combat the industry's reputation for high-pressure tactics. Those values have been revised in recent years to adapt to what he calls “real-world rigors.” Along the way, Cochran has outperformed the industry in sales while battling the loss of GM franchises and riding the success of Hyundai, Kia and Subaru.
